Kate graduated from Wheaton College (MA) with a BA in Economics.  After working in the financial services industry in various investment management positions, Kate joined the IBM Corporation where she held positions in financial management, strategy, and operations.  Kate spent 25 years with IBM and retired in 2009.  Upon retiring, Kate returned to school and earned a degree in Medical Office Management.  She is also a Certified Medical Assistant.

Kate and her husband live in New Canaan and have two grown sons.  She is an EMT and member of the New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps.  In addition to donating 60 hours of service to the organization each month, Kate currently serves as NCVAC’s treasurer.  In 2011, Kate joined ITNCoastalCT as a volunteer driver and became a board member in June, 2014.  She has also served as a Trustee of Pine Manor College.

Tom Green - Co-President

After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1971, Tom moved to Westport and began a thirty plus year adventure as a teacher and counselor in the Westport Public Schools. He worked with students in fifth grade through twelfth grade teaching everything from social studies and math to computer technology and television production. He counseled students at Bedford, Coleytown and Staples. Tom ended his teaching in Westport as a human sexuality educator. For more than twenty years he was the treasurer and human resources director for the Westport Education Association. While walking a picket line in Shelton, CT Tom met and subsequently married Eve Green, another Westport teacher. They have three children and seven grandchildren.

Tom has been involved with community work since moving to Westport serving on the boards of the Community Council, Saugatuck Child Care, Westport-Weston United Way, and United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. Tom chaired the board for Saugatuck Child Care, and has served as the chairperson of the community impact committee for the last six years at United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. He is currently an emeritus member of the Coastal United Way board..

Arlene Brody - Secretary

Arlene grew up in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Brooklyn College and Fordham Law School.  After working as Law Secretary for two New York State Supreme Court justices, Arlene moved to Connecticut to raise her three daughters.  She quickly got involved in community and non-profit organizations, serving as president of the Parent Association at The Children's School in Stamford, and as PTO President at Weston Middle School and Weston High School.  In conjunction with those roles, Arlene served on the Select Team for School Planning and Development and the Weston Public Schools Long Range Planning Committee.  Arlene also served on the boards of The Children's School, the Weston Education Foundation, the United Way of Westport/Weston, the Laura Hartenbaum Breast Cancer Foundation, and LINKS, an organization serving local senior citizens.  Arlene lives in Weston, CT with her husband, Bob.

Joel Beckoff - Treasurer

Joel is a recently retired certified public accountant. He began his career with KPMG in New York and was then relocated to Connecticut by GTE (now Verizon) where he held various positions in accounting and finance.  After leaving GTE, Joel was appointed Corporate Controller for RSL Communications and then went out on his own providing financial consulting services for several client companies. He also held senior level positions at HealthNet and Frontier Communications where he was Vice President, Finance prior to his retirement.

In addition to being a volunteer driver for ITN, Joel also volunteers at Neighborhood Studios in Bridgeport providing accounting assistance. He and his wife Arline, a pre-school special educator, have lived in Westport for almost 30 years and have two grown sons.

Mary Ellen, a graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a BS in Psychology, retired after 11 years as the Director of Westport’s Academy of Dance. Prior to 1986 she pursued a career in Human Resources specializing in Compensation and Strategic Planning for companies such as The First National Bank of Chicago, Beatrice Foods, Household International, and Accenture. Prior to joining the ITNCoastalCT board in March of 2012, Mary Ellen worked extensively with local volunteer and not-for profit organizations including Westport PTA, Westport Young Woman’s League, Westport Country Playhouse, Westport Historical Society and the Penn State University Parents Advisory Board.

Mary Ellen and her husband Jim have one daughter, are members of the Green’s Farms Congregational Church, and reside in Westport, Ct.

Until moving to Westport in 2008, Christie Belknap worked as an attorney in New York City specializing in commercial real estate law.  In her most recent counsel position with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, she worked on a wide range of development deals including the redevelopment of South Street Seaport, Coney Island and the Staten Island waterfront.  Upon moving to Westport, she became interested in using her legal background for a new purpose, specifically grant writing and administration, and became involved with ITNCoastalCT in the spring of 2012.  In addition to her work with ITNCoastalCT, Christie has volunteered extensively with the Westport PTA and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Bedford Middle School PTA as its Grant Administrator.

Christie received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her JD from Emory Law School.  She lives in Westport, CT with her husband and two children.

Bill Carmell - Director

Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Art's degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Columbia University. He served in the military in the New York Army National Guard during the Vietnam War, which included six months of Active Duty. He left the military in 1971 with a commission as a First Lieutenant in the reserve.

Bill practiced law in New York City representing management in labor and employment law matters retiring in June 2013. Was a partner from 1980 until retirement and was selected for 20 years by vote of his peers as one of the Best lawyers in America in his area of specialization.

Miri Citron is currently the Director of  Senior Choice at Home, a Jewish Senior Services program, which is the first Continuing Care at Home program in Southern Connecticut. She presented the program trajectory as a panelist in the successful  "Deep Dive" session at the most recent Leading Age Conference in Nashville.

With a career spanning over 20 years in the Health Care Industry, Miri has lead dedicated teams in turnarounds of inner-city nursing homes. She continued her enthusiasm for innovation and change by being an integral part of several health related startups, focusing on the growth and expansion of diverse market segments.

Miri consistently attributes the development of her skills to brilliant mentors and devoted colleagues. She believes the greatest lessons learned were also her most humbling ones as she navigated care for her parents, who in their later years experienced the 'perfect storm', their personal health "tsunami".

Cathy Diamond’s extensive HR background has made her an invaluable asset to ITNCoastalCT. She has been working at Xerox Corporation since 1996 and currently leads the Executive Compensation function, responsible for the design, delivery and administration of compensation and benefits programs for Xerox executives. Prior to that, she directed Health, Welfare and Work/Life Programs for Xerox’s salaried, union and retired employees. She began her career at Xerox managing the Compensation and Succession Planning programs for corporate staff and the company’s International Assignments Department.

Cathy came to Xerox following eight years as a Vice President at Citibank. Prior to Citibank, Cathy worked at Arthur Andersen, Westvaco and the Stern Graduate School of Business in a variety of HR positions.

Cathy holds a Masters degree in Counseling from James Madison University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the State University of New York at Geneseo.

Cathy resides in Westport, CT with her son, daughter and husband.

Rob grew up in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Princeton University with a BS and MBA from NYU.  Over a 38 year career with just two companies Rob had a broad range of experiences in domestic and international roles and several business segments including: personal care, consumer products, industrial chemicals, and microelectronics.  Breathe of experiences included positions as General Manager, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Project Management, Economic Evaluation and Planning, and Manufacturing.  Rob lives in Norwalk, CT with his wife, Suzanne.

Dennis Magid - Director

Dennis Magid is a skilled major gifts cultivator and solicitor and has been the CEO of several non-profit organizations.  From 1972 to 2002, he was President and CEO of the Jewish Home for the Elderly of Fairfield County (JHE). He also was Executive Director of the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven, Director of the Alzheimer’s Association for the State of CT; and an Independent Consultant for the Jewish Family Service.

Magid was an Administrative Resident at Montefiore Hospital in New York City and served as a Second Lieutenant in the US Public Health Service in San Francisco. He has served as Chairman of the Board for the North American Association of Jewish Homes, Housing, and Services for the Aging; the CT Association of Not-for-Profit Facilities for the Aging; the CT Association of Long Term Care Facilities, and Treasurer of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.

Dennis received a BS degree in Finance with honors from Indiana University and a Masters of Public Health degree from Yale University.

He has published a children’s book and volunteers in the Emergency Room of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, and at JHE.

Dennis and his wife live in Easton, CT. They have two adult children and two very active and delicious grandsons.
